𓇬 New week, new intentions 𓇬

Do you set an intention for the week when it starts?

Or for the day, when you wake up?✨ For your yoga practice, when you step on your mat?

Intensions can help you to define what really matters at a certain moment for you. But they can also function as affirmations; what is it that you find important for this week/day/yoga practice?

Making your intention clear to yourself can help you to guide yourself to where you want to be 💕

Perfection... what does it even mean?

The Covid-19 regulations have had a big impact on the way I teach yoga & on my business. I had to say goodbye to one of the beautiful studio’s I was teaching at, I was all of the sudden teaching instagram classes for another place where I teach and I did something I would never have done otherwise: I’ve opened my own online yogastudio. It has already been over two months since @Aurora_Yoga, the online studio, opened it’s doors. Teaching online was a totally different way of teaching than I was used to, with both it’s pro’s and con’s. I love the little community that we have created with a lot of lovely ladies who join both for the live classes as well as the yoga on demand. (I don’t know how we ended up with just ladies haha, guys, feel welcome to join as well!)

However, teaching online also made me become aware of my own perfectionism and has challenged me in a positive (although it did not always feel positive) way as well. Little thoughts like, “well, you don’t look like a fit yoga teacher.....in certain poses your belly is big!” Or moments like “can I post this video? I’ve made a couple of language mistakes” (English is not my native language). Or “well that little label of my yogapants is sticking out, what now?”. Although my mind was sometimes screaming to not upload the video and reshoot the whole thing, I chose not to do this. To notice these imperfections as “keeping it real, making it relatable” (a little summary of the good advice my boyfriend @tristan.brock tends to give me).

This whole online yoga endeavor has made me appreciate my perfectionism. Although it can sometimes hold me back, if I don’t let it hold me back but do take the good parts of it (like having an eye for detail, and keep developing the functionalities of my website), it helps me to create something I feel proud of. Thank you for supporting me in this endeavor to bring yoga to you, online, live and on demand!

Coming home yesterday after teaching yoga @uscleiden to find this fluffly cutiepie in the living room. Especially if he wants something from his humans, he tends to put all the “Did you already notice how cute I am?”-tricks into action.

Just cuddling this cat makes me really calm. Just like (yin) yoga.... Can we combine both?

Well, who knows. Maybe rufus will make an appearance again tonight during our online yogaclass 🙈. See you there? (Link to my website is in my bio).

𓇬Flowing together 𓇬

Yesterday I taught my first in person yogaclasses after almost 2 months 🙏🏻. It was so lovely to see so many of you again in the different classes. Relaxing, flowing & playing together with all the yogaposes. I hope that the weather stays this way, so we can see each other the upcoming weeks as well 🙏🏻. In the mean time you can also join my online classes. Maybe bringing the laptop outside tonight for some poweryoga in the garden? 😏 (just dropping a hint there).
